After getting drafted by the Toronto Blue Jays out of Lake Stevens High School, injury took Josh away from the game for 6 years. In his return he would go on to sign professionally 3 times over the next 7 years. Also spending time with the Seattle Studs, where they won 2 National Championships.
Josh has also had a lengthy coaching career spanning from time with his sons 8U team, 2 seasons at Lake Stevens High School, a few runs with local select programs, and currently a coach for the summer collegiate team the Everett Merchants who play in the Pacific International League.

Blacken would go on to play four seasons of independent ball in the Frontier League, playing for the Chillicothe (Ohio) Paints, the Evansville (Ind.) Otters, and the Florence (Ky.) Freedom. Overall he played in 378 professional games, hitting .293, hitting 50 home runs, driving in 233 runs. He was selected to three All-Star games during his career.
Beau is currently the Associate Head Coach of the Summer collegiate team the Everett Merchants. The Everett Merchants have been part of the NW baseball scene since 1962.

After his playing career, he jumped straight into the coaching scene, joining his high school alma mater at Mt. Vernon High. In 2016, Sean joined local power house MV Diamond Dogs, where he spent 4 years helping develop their younger athletes.
In 2018, Sean became part of the Skagit Valley CC coaching staff, where he and head coach Grady Tewig will continue to strengthen an already solid baseball program. Sean has recently started coaching for the Nanaimo NightOwls, a summer collegiate team in the West Coast League.

Sara continued as a part of the Mount Vernon coaching staff for 10+ years. She was a staple in the Skagit softball scene teaching and motivating the softball community with her tenacity and love for the game.
Sara specializes as an infield coach and takes advantage of our indoor turf field at Skagit Arena to help softball players dominate the diamond. She is committed to the continued revitalization of softball in the Skagit area!
